In 2013-14, the National School Lunch Program and Illinois’ Women Infant and Children feeding program banished 2% mile and whole milk from their offerings, in favor of skim and 1% almost exclusively, reflecting US Department of Agriculture dietary guidelines for Americans have recommended low-fat milk since 1995.
